Our Olinda Playscape is an Award Winner!

Fantastic news! The Olinda Playspace has just won the prestigious Australian Institute of Landscape Architect’s Award for Playspaces. The jury particularly noted the strong community ownership of the Playspace. The community’s support and input directly informed our plan for the old Olinda Golf Course. This Playspace represented a significant investment from the Victorian Government into Olinda’s recreational environment. This is a brilliant space for the people of the hills and the wider Victorian community. It’s the product of a great collaboration with the community that will be enjoyed for decades to come.

To all of you who participated in the consultation process and everyone from the community who has embraced this playspace, this is a massive win for all of you. Special congratulations to landscape architect Anna; local artists Emma, Shlomit, Jessie, Jeanette; and students from Sassafras and Olinda Primary Schools who have brought this beautiful playspace to life. Thanks also to the passionate team at Parks Victoria who have worked so hard on this project; Yarra Ranges Council; Sport and Recreation Victoria and the community reference group!
